John Connelly

Connelly was a founding member of the Highland Avenue Aces, who lost in the finals of the 1970 IFT and bragged that they would come back and win the following year. They did win the IFT in 1971, and again in 1972 and 1973. John’s teams played in the finals at the IFT 7 times, including 5 straight years. He also served as Tournament Director for the GPA World Championship in 1979. Connelly was one of the best all around disc players during the 1970’s. He was the 1975 Octad World Individual Flying Disc Champion, the 1976 Distance Champion at WFC, the 1978 World Frisbee Golf Champion, and a member of the 1983 Ultimate Frisbee National Championship team.
