Erwin Velasquez
The most famous Freestyle pair in the history of the sport, Jens and Erwin Velasquez won their first world title at the World Frisbee Championships at the Rose Bowl in 1976 and are the only Freestylers to win consecutive WFC titles. In 1978, the British press named them “Self-styled Frisbee Ambassadors to the World.” They have been featured in the Academy Award-nominated short film Floating Free and in numerous books. Erwin and Jens delighted crowds by performing Frisbee Freestyle shows for the NFL, NBA, NASL, MISL, and MLB. The brothers also performed in Europe, Japan, and the U.S. on tours sponsored by Wham-O, Anheuser-Busch, LION, Junior Center, and Åhléns. They still performed into the 2010s.
