Gerard Newman

Gerard “Tuts” Newman was a member of two of the most successful Guts teams ever assembled: the Library Bar of the 1970’s, and then the Cupola Bandits, a team he founded. Tuts played in the finals of 20 tournaments (6 with the Library and 10 with Cupola) and won 16 times. Tuts’ teams won the IFT in 1977 and 1978, as well as 4 US Nationals, and 3 GPA World Championships. He was voted MVP at the GPA World Championships in 1978. His record of excellence as a player speaks for itself. Tuts was a real sportsman and a player to whom his competitors showed a great deal of respect.
