“Toledo” Joe Welch

“Toledo” Joe Welch was one of the most complete players to compete in the game of Guts. His multi-angled sidearm, tremendous hands, and drive made Joe one of the favorite competitors to play with or against. With his teams the Lightweights, Video Sensations, and Blame the Dog, Welch won nine tournaments, making twenty finals. Joe won two IFTs and five GPA World Championships, and was GPA World Champion MVP twice. Joe mixed a positive attitude with just the right amount of intensity to make him one of the top sportsmen in the history of the game. And all with a smile on his face!

Inducted at the 54th International Frisbee Tournament in 2011
